They are based on the popular LX and Zetec lines, the Focus Connection boasts extras worth over €2,500 for just €1,300, including an ingenious ‘KeyFree’ entry system and high-tech voice control. The Fiesta Connection, meanwhile, comes complete with voice-activated Bluetooth, voice-activated audio and an MP3 socket. The 'KeyFree' feature on the Focus Connection eliminates the need for fumbling for keys in handbags or pockets. As the driver approaches, the car unlocks the doors automatically. You even start the car without a key, just turn the ignition switch, nothing to insert, nothing to press – it's as easy as that. Voice-activated controls and Bluetooth technology means the driver can manage the audio, navigation, climate control (where fitted) and Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone simply through voice commands! Fresh, technical-style trims complement the technology inside. Standard features on the LX Connection include 16” alloys, power rear windows with global closing, trip computer, body coloured exterior, and front fogs, with climate control, power rear windows and 17” alloys on each Zetec model. The MP3 connection on the Fiesta allows an MP3 player to be played through the car sound system, allowing entire music collections to be enjoyed in-car! In addition to the Bluetooth/voice control system, the car is especially well appointed, with electric front windows and mirrors, CD player with remote control, central locking, 16” alloys, front fog lamps, sunroof, leather wrapped steering wheel, body-coloured handles and mirrors and a rear spoiler. The Fiesta Connection retails at just €385 over the top-selling Fiesta Steel, on which it is based. The ex-works prices for the Fiesta Connection 3-Door 1.25i Duratec is €16,055 and the 5-door is €16,660. The Focus LX Connection, 4-Door, 1.4i Duratec ex-prices start €22,055 and the 5-Door line-up begins at €21,750. The Ford Focus claimed over 7% of the car market in May to consolidate its position as the country’s best-selling car. Athlone Advertiser |
